About This Resource

Trauma Psychoeducation Cards is a set of 100 visual cards that explain concepts from the neurobiology of trauma, the nervous system and somatic regulation. Its original Dutch name is “Trauma Ontrafeld”. The cards are meant as visual aids for professionals who explain these concepts to their patients.

The set is divided into eight modules, from the foundations and neurobiology of trauma to a final module of summary cards that can be shown to the patient directly. According to the product materials, the cards are inspired by the work of Bessel van der Kolk, Peter Levine, Stephen Porges and Janina Fisher. These names identify the sources of the concepts; they do not indicate endorsement by the authors.

The material itself is written in Dutch. The cards are educational visuals to support the work of qualified professionals. They are not a diagnostic instrument or a treatment method and do not replace professional training.
